Originally from Sydney owners Bernadette Smith, Duncan Clarke and Phill Stephens have combined many years of experience in the entertainment industry, hospitality, marketing and public relations to create the most unique entertainment venue in North Queensland.

Professional entertainers Bernadette and Phill write, produce, direct and star in the Comedy Cabaret shows that have made Stage Door the Number One Theatre Restaurant in North Queensland. 

With 20 years experience in the entertainment industry as singers and comedians Bernadette and Phill wow their audiences with beautiful live singing, hilarious tongue in cheek impersonations, very funny word changes, dazzling costumes and huge orchestral backing tracks. The fabulous entertainment is not the only thing to write home about at Stage Door.  Not content to just star on stage, Phill (who has owned a number of successful restaurants and cafes in Sydney and Coffs Harbour) is also Executive Chef.  Together with local Chef Chrissy they create and produce delicious three course meals of the highest quality that co-star beautifully with the excellent service and high class entertainment.   (See the Menu page)

Duncan Clarke, the third in the trio and husband of Bernadette, prides himself on offering a great selection of Australian wines, beers and spirits to accompany the food and entertainment in the warm and friendly atmosphere that has become synonymous with Stage Door Theatre Restaurant.   Why not “have a beer with Duncan” after the show!

A tourist Mecca, locals and visitors from all over the world are constantly amazed that Magnetic Island, 8kms off the coast of Townsville in “The Great Barrier Reef”, boasts an entertainment venue that compares equally with any cabaret venue in the world.

The director of the largest and most successful arts festival in Australia, The Sydney Festival 2006/2007 happened upon Stage Door Theatre Restaurant on his recent holiday to Magnetic Island and felt compelled to report in an interview with the Australian Financial Review in January 2007  “I’m not kidding, Stage Door on Magnetic Island have full floorshows, it’s great!”
